Sport & Physical Activity
Introduction
Many students enjoy sport and want to develop career in a sports related field. This course allows that as it will develop skills and knowledge in areas such as training, fitness and development and coaching. Cambridge Technical is assessed mainly through assignment work, and so suits all learning styles. The course includes hands-on practical experience based upon real life scenarios. It is worth the equivalent of 2 A-levels and the UCAS points available at level 3 allow progression to higher education. This course suits students who enjoy independent learning and individual research tasks.

Assessment
- Examination: three units are externally set and assessed.
- Non-examined assessment: most units are assessed through coursework, essays, assignments, presentations, research projects and log books.

Skills and requirements
Subject entry requirements
- 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above including English and maths. GCSE PE preferable but not essential.
Sixth Form entry requirements
- 4 A-levels over 2 years: for students who have achieved 5 or more grade 7s or above including English and maths (grade 5 or above).
- 3 A-levels over 2 years: for students who have achieved 5 grade 5s or above including English and maths.
- Level 3 vocational courses: for students who have achieved 5 grade 4s or above including English and maths.
