Mathematics
Introduction
The intent of the Mathematics Department, through an ambitious curriculum, is to equip all our students with mathematical skills essential for future learning, life, and employment. We aim for students to be numerate and confident in their own abilities in reasoning, problem solving and communication of mathematics, both verbally and in writing. Our curriculum will allow students to develop their resilience and become inquisitive learners; to experience success and be proud of what they are doing. Within our curriculum we aim to create an awareness of how mathematics goes beyond numeracy and is a means of explaining the world around us with a universal language, and has been throughout history, a fluid subject which has developed across multiple cultures.
